Graduation can be a very exciting time for many seniors, but for some, it can also be a stressful transition. College is ending, so it’s time to figure out what’s next. Are you hoping to land your dream job, or are you more interested in continuing your education in graduate school? Or has an intriguing internship caught your eye, but you’re unsure about completing the application?
Many writers encounter struggles when writing for a professional audience, especially if they are writing in a new genre like a cover letter. These challenges can also be amplified by other factors, including worries about life after graduation and uncertainty about your audience’s expectations.
The University Writing Center is an excellent resource at any stage of the application process. Whether you are unsure of how to start writing a cover letter or need feedback on a nearly finished resume, the consultants at the UWC are experienced in supporting students through the writing process for all types of application materials. We can offer you helpful suggestions to make your final products as effective as possible. You can even get an early start on these sorts of materials by stopping by the UWC during our summer hours: Monday and Wednesday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
